Say Hello to Singer

Description

Oh look. I have another sewing machine. And it's old.

So, here's the story behind this baby. I was baby sitting my niece with my mother and father, we're all having a late lunch at the table when my niece's mother calls (aka, my sister). Apparently, her boyfriend is a bit of a hoarder. He passed by a garage sale and saw they were selling two sewing machines. A 1918 hand crank Singer, and this gorgeous 1952 Singer. The thing;'s brand spanking new, and apparently the previous owners never used it. He decided he'd like to learn how to sew and bought the latter (and lighter) of the two. Then my sister called him out on the "teaching himself to sew" thing, and he realized she was right and probably never would take the time to sew. So she decided to call my seamstress aunt and see if she wanted it, and she refused. So they then decided they were going to sell it online.

When I heard it was a 1952 Singer, I shat a brick. Singers from before 1965 are supposed to be CLASS machines. Like, amazing than the cheap Singers and Brothers you'd find at JoAnn's today. So I immediately messaged my sister "How much do you want for the machine?" Like two hours later, my sister comes over and says, "The machine's in my trunk. Will bought it for $80, I paid half of that for your birthday. It's all yours."

My sister isn't such a horrid bitch after all~ Granted, I probably do have to take it to a repair place and get it lubed up before I can use it but I just got myself an amazing machine for an amazingly cheap price. 8D
